Learn how to make a DIY longboard! This was a really fun and relatively easy DIY project that’s woodworking focused. We made a simple, hardwood board with no complex curvature to show how easy it is to make a longboard yourself. Whether you’re a longtime skateboarder like Jay, or brand new to it like Jaimie, you can definitely make something yourself that is great looking and fun to ride.

A longboard is a long skateboard that is great for cruising and more relaxed riding. There are different types and all kinds of shapes and sizes like cruisers, downhill boards, etc. We chose to make a pintail shape, based on a really neat design from the Fibreflex series by Gordon & Smith. With nice big wheels from Orangatang and smooth bearings from Bones REDS, and the Sidewinder II Gullwing trucks, this thing rides like butter!
